Quail Hunting in Kansas |
Endless, rolling Prairie; hard
charging bird dogs; the smell of gunpowder, and feathers in the wind are
some of the elements of a memorable Quail Hunt in the Heartland of
America.

I have leased a 15,000 acre ranch outside Dodge City, Kansas
that has never been quail hunted except by the owner and his family. If
this year’s hatch is anything like the past couple of seasons, we should
see 10 to 15 large coveys of strong flying birds per day with the
occasional Pheasant and Prairie Chicken mixed in.
We will be hunting by foot in the traditional manner over my
string of bird dogs. Hunters may opt to bring their own dogs and hunt
independently.
